Our Cookbook (“the App”) is operated by Strogonofy Designs. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Under POPIA Section 11 and GDPR Article 6, we process your data on the basis of: (a) your consent, (b) contractual necessity (to provide the service), and (c) legitimate interest (to improve and secure the App).
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) servers. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), Firebase Authentication, and Firestore security rules to protect your information. API keys are proxied through a secure Cloudflare Worker and never exposed to the client.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request data deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

We use essential cookies for the App to function. Analytics (GA4) and marketing (Meta Pixel) cookies are only loaded after you give consent via our cookie banner. You can change your preferences at any time from the landing page.
The App is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
